I’m Rocking a New Video Camera

I’m not a very competitive person. I really don’t have any of that status mentality where I care what kind of car you drive or how expensive your sunglasses are or how big the rock on your finger is. Back in the day before I got engaged, women I barely knew would show me their engagement rings and I’d have to do the whole fake “Oooooh, it’s so beautiful!” not knowing anything about carats or cut or cuteness or any of the eleven C’s. Not much has changed. I still am not all that interested in keeping up with the Joneses — although there is a sweet Coach pink backpack I’ve had my eye on (eBay). Recently though, I got a Sony handy cam that is making me very excited.

A couple of weeks ago there was a Spring Sing performance at Elby’s school. Every class sang a song (the 1st graders did Lion Sleeps Tonight) but even more exciting was that Elby got to do a Taiko drum routine that she auditioned for and got chosen. She was so into it and I was, of course, so into video taping it. Video posted after the jump! But keep reading after because two Babble readers will win one!

When I pulled out the camera I had one of my first true feelings of “inner braggery” that I had such a great camera to work with. Here’s the video.

Elby’s the one in purple tie dye dress. Enjoy.
