Although I’m not originally from Houston, I’ve lived much of my life in this city.  It has always surprised me that most people never consider visiting this incredibly cosmopolitan city, especially since it’s the fourth largest city in the United States.  But recently, Houston has been receiving some astoundingly great press: last year, Forbes touted Houston as the coolest city to live in the United States;  and even Texas Monthly got in on the act, giving an impassioned, somewhat tongue-in-cheek argument why the Texas state capital should be moved from Austin to Houston — and to be honest, once you read the article, it’s really hard to disagree with its logic.

Having spent most of my adulthood in this city, I’ve had the opportunity to really fall in love with the place — and photograph much of its coolness in the process.  And so, without further ado, here are the top 10 reasons you should add the Bayou City to your future travel plans.

Ok, the first two photos are of architecture that frankly, is not very interesting. Is this an example of what one can expect when visiting Houston? a bunch of ugly, non-discript buildings?

  2. George says:

Yes, Houston is ugly. The photos are not really good either. But yes, Houston is a giant mess of a city; concrete, signs and fabricated charm. But hey, the food is great!

That was a terrible “10 awesome things to do in houston” list. If your title says you are going to tell me something “awesome” to do, dont just give me 10 generic things that there are in houston. Wow, its really cool to drive past those big ass presidents heads on 45, not really something “awesome” to do in houston. Anyway, just figured i would share my opinion that this list was probably the most generic one i have come across, and someone probably paid you to make it.
