I know. I know. It’s everywhere right? That blogger from Sassy Mama in L.A. is now on Babble! (psst- that’s me!) Oh, and the Princess of Wales is pregnant. Kinda the same big deal, right? Ok, ok…I’m no Princess (even though my daughter thinks that she is). I am, however, the new girl in town here on Babble. Hola!
Being the new kid on the block is not easy. The Duchess of Cambridge is still the new royal, so you know, I can relate. Besides the castle, the prince, the ruling of a country and all. Ahem. While the world may know Princess Kate, most of you have yet to get to know me. Here’s the cliff notes version, or as my husband likes to call it, “only the parts you remember.”
I am the mom that curses, especially while driving. I like to drink beer and wine on occasion, but remember (vaguely) the days where I had special relationships with Jack, Jose and the Captain. Once upon a time, I did inhale, and liked it. I have a long history with men…too long and too many, but I ended up with the love of my life, even though some days I tend to throw a shoe or two at him (that’s a Latina’s way of saying, “I love you, passionately!” Just ask any of us). I don’t cook or clean, but I love to bake and have very organized piles of stuff everywhere. I used to do musical theater (“All That Jazz” was my standard audition piece, wink wink), plays, and spent my first semester of college as a theater major. Then I met other “actors” and really didn’t want to be like them. However, I will bust out a Sondheim medley on demand, although usually it’s on my demand, not one of my husband’s favorite qualities of mine. I am the one that vowed to not become her mother but every day, I can just hear her words coming out of my mouth…and it’s not so bad.
I guess what I am trying to say is I kinda rock. But you’ll see that soon enough.
