Kids’ Activities: Hawaii-Style

What can you do with kids while visiting Maui? What CAN’T you do with kids while visiting Maui? Hawaii is a kids’ paradise, and we couldn’t have dreamed up a better grouping of options than the ones at the Westin Maui. The perfect beaches, the award-winning FIVE pools, koi fish feedings, talking parrots, flamingo-watching, kids crafting tables…and this was all on the property.

Not to mention the Westin Maui Kids Club. Now, to be completely honest, we were hesitant about enrolling our son in the half-day camp. Our daughter was too young for the program, and we were nervous that he would be uncomfortable surrounded by new people in a new place without knowing anyone. When we dropped him off, we let him know that he could leave the program whenever he wanted, and that we would be a hop, skip and a jump away. We left the counselors with our fingers crossed. You guys, he loved it. LOVED IT. The activities are so fun — he went net fishing (see photo below), and did not want to leave when we arrived to pick him up.  In fact, he begged us to let him go back that evening for the night program, as well as the next day. “We will spend time together as a family! DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?” is not something I imagined saying to my 5-year-old, but I totally did. My son would have spent every waking moment at Kids Club if he could.

And if THAT isn’t enough of a glowing recommendation, here are some of our favorite photos of our adventures at the Westin Maui.
