10 Pecan Pie Recipes: You’ll Want to Make All of These This Holiday Season

By |

I’m hitting refresh in the country and cooking in the kitchen where my great grandmother has years ago,  so I want to do things right. Simple. The old-fashioned way.

And that starts with making pies from the pecans that are constantly falling on my head from the overloaded pecan trees.

I wrote all about this over on Blog con Queso today. But basically, I’m being overrun by pecans and the squirrels who love them. I’ve also found myself, whenever I’m on a conference call and/or a bit stressed out, wandering outside and mindlessly picking up pecans. Lots and lots of pecans.

Y’all. The pecans are freaking everywhere right now. And so since ’tis the season, let’s talk about 10 great pecan pie options. Check it.

Or if you're more modern and would rather forego the corn syrup. Get that recipe right here.

And while you're at it, why not just fry the damn thing? (This actually looks really interesting. So Southern.) And add some bourbon whipped cream. Watch a video on how to do this right here.

  • Pumpkin Pecan Pie with Whiskey Butter Sauce

Wait wait wait. There's a lot going on here. For starters, we've combined both of your favorite pies into one. Hello. And did you get that last part...um, Whiskey Butter Sauce. That's even better in concept that Butter Beer. So, yeah. I now think all pies in the universe should be topped with Whiskey Butter Sauce. Amen. Get that recipe right here.

  • Caramel Pecan Pie

    Caramel Pecan Pie

Okay, we're backing down a little bit. But I have about 250 caramels left over from Halloween, so this is looking like a plan. Get the recipe right here.

  • Pecan Cheesecake Pie

  • Pioneer Woman Pecan Pie

The Queen of Southern Decadence. Love every recipe she's ever put out there. She claims this is the "pie that'll make you cry." In a good way, I think. Get that recipe right here.

  • Pecan Pralines

And once you've chosen your pie, move on to some other Pecan Treats of Goodness. Check out this Etsy store I set up for a Charity: Water + Sandy Relief Efforts Fundraiser. You won't be disappointed (and you'll give back in the process). Check out the Pecan Etsy Store right here.

So currently, I am rich in my pecans. Camp Mighty is happening later this week, and I’ve been trying to think of something to do to raise money for Charity: Water (everyone who attends camp pledges to raise $200 for Charity: Water) and I also wanted to do something for the Sandy Disaster Relief efforts. So I’m doing what I can with what I have: pecans.

I’ve opened an Etsy shop (Shop con Queso) where I’m selling small batches of Texas Pecan Pralines, Texas Pecan Cookies, Spicy Texas Pecans, Texas Pecan Bourbon Balls, Toasted Texas Pecan Pesto, and Texas Pecan Pie Jam. Proceeds will go to Charity: Water and Occupy Sandy. So go check it out.

And Happy Pecan Season!
