Okay, so there’s been a lot of talk about the parties and the sponsors and the food and the fun surrounding Mom 2.0 Summit in Miami this year. But it’s a little harder to collect all the conversations…as we were there to connect, to converse and to “Get Ready for What’s Next.” This was actually really easy to accomplish because there were so many incredible speakers who stepped up to the microphone with a few words of wisdom (you can see the whole schedule right here). But it took a while to compile all the reports…almost as long as it took to put the content together.
I have to say, as someone who is on the team charged with creating content for an event months before it happens, it’s always tricky to project what we’ll be talking about half a year in advance. After all, this is social media. The hot topics of conversation change every week. The big picture discussion topics change each month. So what will we be talking about next year…who knows?
What was extremely obvious to me last November when we looked through the long list of speaking applications submitted…people wanted to talk about what was coming next. Or how to decide what to do next. Or how to spot the next best thing. You get the point…and the point is, there was a lot of interest in the pursuit of NEXT. It’s a big topic. And we had 55 speakers who approached it in different ways.
I hate that I can’t attend every single panel. It’s always an issue at conferences…and especially at Mom 2.0, as I’ve been thinking and reading about the topics for months…I want to attend every session. If anyone has an idea about how to fix this and/or make this happen, please let me know. (No really, please let me know.)
In the meantime, this is the next best thing….an overview on each of the panels at Mom 2.0 2012. Three keynote panels. Eight breakout panels. Eleven sessions of goodness….Check them out! (Links to Live Blogger overview posts are included. So awesome)

How about that? I love having all these in one place. A huge thanks to the writers of these recaps...Laurie White, Katherine Stone, Morgan Shanahan, Nicole Morgan, and Leslie Fandrich. And again, reading these is almost as good as being there…almost.
Besides these panels, we also had a few solo-speaker general sessions. Brene Brown did a feature presentation, and in another attempt to help not-miss-things this year, we added an “Anything But General” Session….Twelve, seven-minute experts presented a variety of topics…12 presentations…each just 7 minutes long. It was very well received, and I think it will become a new Mom 2 Tradition. I’ll post more on those excellent presentations very soon.
In the meantime, I’m already thinking about next year. The format and topics of Mom 2.0 change every year…some years there are more sessions, some years it’s more tech heavy, some years there are more hands-on workshops. We try to match the content not only to what is going on in any given year, but also to the location, the environment, the theme and vibe of that year’s event. And speaking of “What’s Next,” give me a preview of what you think you’ll be wanting to talk about next year.
What topics are on your mind, what do you want to discuss, and what kinds of sessions would you like to attend?
