Three weeks ago exactly, the Mom 2.0 Summit kicked off with a kicking White Sands White Party. It was pretty darn amazing…and I can say that because I had minimal amounts of anything to do with the fact that it was amazing. Sure, I’m one of the (many) people who puts on Mom 2.0…but besides doing a walk-through, taste-test, nod-a-few-times-and-say-yep site visit last July, I just stayed out of the way and let my partner Carrie run with this. She teamed up with LG Electronics and Honda (who both did amazing jobs and were really great to work with…I highly recommend teaming up with their teams of talented people when throwing a party.) And together, they created an exceptional evening.
Sure there was some pre-event angst about wearing white (especially from New Yorkers, I must say), but everyone was simply glowing, and the event was surreally luminous as well.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from that evening (Most of these were taken by one of my favorite photographers, Michael Cummings. Also, he once saved a man from a burning car. True story.) …

Were you there? Have you seen other photos out there that I’m missing?
If you weren’t there, we totally missed you…and I hope you’ll come next year. I just got word about what
we’re Carrie’s planning, for 2013, and it’s pretty freaking awesome.
But in the meantime, I’m thinking it might be fun to throw my own version of a White Party this summer…but then, it would be an Austin White Party…which would be something like hippy meets hipster meets cowboy. That might be weird. Much less glam than the Miami version. In fact, just thinking about it makes me laugh. If I throw it, will you come?
Next week I’ll be caught up enough on sleep to talk about the actual content and speakers at the event, the aesthetically pleasing Miami Beach party at the Versace Mansion, the new things I learned at the conference (and about throwing a conference), as well as a shout-out, look-forward to the Media and New Media Conferences I’m looking forward to this Summer.
