Addie is kind of famous among my friends for her sense of fashion. There are times she shows me what she’s going to wear and I’m left thinking she’ll look like a clown, then she puts the outfit on and looks better than I do when I put conscious effort into my clothing. She’s offered to dress me a few times and I swear she pairs the most ridiculous items from my closet, but once I’m dressed? I look amazing. As long as I’m responsible for my own hair and makeup I could pass for a very stylish mom.
Addie still has a lot to learn when it comes to hair and makeup.
So much to learn.
But clothes! OH CLOTHES! She would make Minnie Mouse proud. She makes ears look fashionable. For the longest time I fought buying character clothing because it all seemed the same, so cheesy and commercial. But Disney has something amazing with Minnie, they have made her relevant to every woman. I’m wearing a vintage Minnie shirt right now. Vivi’s favorite bib has Minnie on the front of it, and Addie? Well, if Addie ever had a style icon to look up to? It’s Minnie all the way.
Fashionable, modest, hip, fun, girly, practical and ready for anything—these are the traits that embody both Minnie and Addie. Click through to see how she styled 5 different shirts from the Minnie Total Girl Collection from JCP. (Shirts available online and in store at JCP now, shirts retail for $16 each. Addie is 8 years old and wearing a size large in each photo.)
