We are living at the movies this summer. The kids have every preview and release date memorized. Beat the summer heat? Done. If we aren’t at the waterpark, we’re watching movies.
I would rate that a perfect kid summer to remember.
One of the movies the kids are most excited about is Turbo from DreamWorks.
Turbo is about an underdog snail, voiced by Ryan Reynolds, who dreams of being fast. After an accident (the scene for which I watched during a sneak preview at DreamWorks and can attest to being hilarious), Turbo miraculously gains the power of speed. Indy 500 speed.
The extended preview I watched was genuinely funny, sweet, and will have you drawn in by the distinct personalities of the different snails. Ryan Reynolds, in particular, brings such a charged (and charming) personality to Turbo, you’ll be pressed to not fall in love.
Add plenty of action and it will keep the kids on the edge of their seats. If your kids love Slugterra, this is just the movie for them.
We are so ready for Turbo, which hits theaters on July 17.

Speaking of kid memories, coming in March 2014, DreamWorks is sparking new life into a childhood favorite: Mr. Peabody & Sherman!
Featuring the voices of Ty Burrell (Modern Family) and Max Charles (The Three Stooges), how can Mr. Peabody & Sherman not remind you of Saturday mornings on the living room floor, bowl of cereal in hand and marvel in your eyes? This mom can’t wait.
What movies are your kids excited about this summer?
