If you read my work at Mom Bloggers for Social Good you already know how much I love the work of the World Food Programme (WFP). The WFP is the largest humanitarian agency working to fight hunger. I admire Etheran Cousin, WFP’s Executive Director and am proud to collaborate with WFP’s headquarters in Rome to help spread the word about the lifesaving work they do 365 days of the year to my networks.
I was thrilled to read today in Vogue UK that Michael Kors has recently joined the World Food Programme in the global fight against hunger.
“I am so proud to be joining the World Food Programme in one of the greatest global fights of our time—the battle to end hunger,” said Kors. “Over the years, I’ve had the great fortune of traveling the world and experiencing new cultures and people. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that millions of people all over the world are struggling to feed themselves, and their families, every day. I want to lend my voice and my efforts to this international cause.”
Kors will create special promotional items for the Watch Hunger Stop campaign where proceeds are given to the World Food Programme including a unisex watch that launches in March that will feed 100 people. For now you can donate to the World Food Programme at wfp.org/kors. A $5 donation will provide a child with one meal a day for an entire month!
