I am beyond thrilled to announce that my family was chosen to be part of the American Latino Expedition. Thanks to the American Latino Heritage Fund, Aramark, and REI we will be traveling to Mesa Verde National Park in August. Our mission is to help inform Latino Families about the history, culture, and adventure that America’s National Parks have to offer.
Mesa Verde is home to many beautiful places including 1,500 year old Cliff Palace, the largest cliff dwelling in North America. It has 150 rooms and housed about 120 Ancestral Puebloans. It’s just one of the incredible things that we will see on our National Park adventure. Two other groups, that include Babble Bloggers Nicole Presley and Monique Frausto, will go to Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in Arizona and Olympic National Park in Washington as part of the expedition.
One of the reasons I wanted to go on the trip is because my family and I cherish the National Park adventures we’ve had. We’ve camped, road tripped, and flown to some of the most beautiful spots in the United States. Spending time outdoors together not only gets us away from our computers and video games, but we learn so much – about the parks we visit and about each other. Here are some of the amazing National Parks we’ve been fortunate enough to visit that are especially great for families.
