Movie Reviews By My Kid: Rise of the Guardians

I don’t know about the rest of you but after the 26th of December I only want to do two things: Go to movies and desperately search the internet for unbelievable last minute deals to the Caribbean.   And no matter how amazing those deals are to Cuba ($500/week only makes me think of serious intestinal combustion) I usually opt for the under $50 vacation to the IMAX theatre.  Considering we watch most movies in the comfort of our own home going to an actual film with a $16.99 drink/popcorn combo is still special.  Here my just turned 6 year old daughter reviews the “Rise of the Guardians”:

Rise of the Guardians is 1hr 37min”Ž”Ž  and Rated G”Ž”Ž – Animation/Action/Adventure”Ž”Ž – English.  (And on a personal note I LOVED this movie.  There were so many sweet moments and I actually found myself tearing up.  A perfect holiday film no matter what you believe!)

What was the movie about?

You know what there was an evil guy in it and he was nightmares and he was pitch black and he make nightmares and he was stealing tooths and then the middle of the story Pitch black took all the teeth and there was no more magic.

Why is it called Rise Of The Guardians?

Because Jack Frost is a boy and he’s a nice guy and he had a family way back.  He had a sister and she was scared and he said lets have fun and he fell in the water and his sister went like AHHHHHH.  And Jack Frost’s hair turned into white and when he came back out and saw a guy.  The big guy.

Who was the big guy?

I don’t know.

The guy with the beard and the giant belly.  You don’t know who he was?

Not really.

Santa.

I guess… but his hands were huge.

Did you like the movie?

I liked the funny elf and there was another one.  The big fat guy -

Santa

Oh right.

Was it scary?

No.  Okay a little.  The kids didn’t believe in Jack Frost but then a kid said – I believe in you!  And then pitch black said you can’t beat me (acts it out).  The little boy was scared and then the boy said he had a family way back and then they had fun.  And he’s all about fun.  His place.

Who was your favourite character?

I loved the tooth fairy. The little baby tooth fairy.  What was her name?

Baby Tooth

OH I loved that.  The others were stuck in a cage.  And pitch black was always like “NOOOOOOOOO”

What would you tell your friends about this movie?

I would tell them Jack Frost had a special stick.  And whenever he touched stuff.  Then snow flakes would go on trees.  You know what?  He kind of looks like Daddy.

Who?

Jack Frost.  I liked him.

How many stars would you give this movie?

21 stars and 100.

Is this movie for all ages?

Maybe 100 is too old.
