Must SEE! Disney's Animal Kingdom's Wild Africa Trek

Animal Kingdom's Wild Africa Trek

My love of all things Disney is well-documented; As I’ve said before the trek to the Walt Disney World is one we’ve been taking since my kids were very young. We always tried to do things that were out of the ordinary and not so well-known and I thought I had done most all of those, until I discovered this little gem earlier this year.

I had an opportunity to go to the Disney Social Media Moms celebration in April and while we were there learning more about how to make our blogs and social lives more productive, we also had a chance to experience some fun.

Now I’ve mentioned before that one favorite park is Epcot for all sorts of reasons. But hot on  its heels would be Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. It’s one of the places we must go each time we venture to the Orlando area but this time I did something really cool.

A group of us had an opportunity to go on the Wild Africa Trek, a VIP safari through the African savanna. There is an additional charge but there are specials running through the end of September and trust me when I say it’s worth every penny. Here.. take a look for yourself!

Our group made sure to drink up before heading out into the hot sun. That's Ashley Reeve and her husband Robin, who told me where to save calories when dining at Disney.

Up close and personal. I learned all kinds of interesting things about them, like the crazy thing they do when they poop. Look it up.

Look at this spread that we ate in the open air midway through the adventure. It was delicious.

Luckily the giraffe, who was just feet from our table, was sated by tree leaves.
