A big thanks to Disney for sponsoring this campaign. Click here to see more of the discussion.

“Argo” with seven-year-olds FTW!

The Oscars® are only days away now, and if you’re anything like me (or really any parent), you have some catching up to do on the nominees, what with being distracted by all that loving caregiving and all. Well I’m here to help, folks!

First, what better way to get a feel for this year’s nominated films than to watch them be reenacted by kids? It’s like a crash course in all the films of Oscars 2013, but with extra incoherence slathered in hilarious, halting mispronunciation! WIN!

See, you didn’t actually have to get a babysitter and trudge out to the theater after all! SNORT.

But that only covers the Best Picture nominees, right? What about Best Actor, Best Actress, and the countless other VRY VRY important nominees whom you – the tied to your couch because the babysitter costs freakin’ $11 an hour (SOB!) parent – know virtually nothing about? How in God’s name will you ever catch up and be prepared to whip your sister-in-law’s butt at Oscars trivia Sunday night (or at the very least give the appearance of someone not living wholly under a rock)?!

Well let me let you in on a little secret: there’s an app for that.

Namely, the official Oscar Experience app – a completely free interactive guide to the Oscars and ALL the nominees – EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. BEHOLD YOUR SAVIOR, OUT-OF-TOUCH PARENTAL UNITS:

Pretty. Shiny. HELPFUL.

Among other things, the app breaks down each Oscars category and the nominees therein, providing film synopses, detailed info about the nominee, and even trailers. It’s pretty epic, honestly.

So listen, stop moping and whining about how you haven’t even SEEN any of the movies this year, get the app, and get ready for Sunday! There’s now officially NO EXCUSE for you to be clueless, m’kay? And you’re welcome.

PS: Join me and the rest of the MamaPop crew on Twitter Sunday night for some marathon live Oscars tweeting, from the first moments of the Red Carpet straight through to the end, won’t you?
