In addition to my mom, I have my lovely niece Fernanda Jimenez visiting as well. She is a young, professional photographer starting out who has worked in fashion and product shoots over the last year and she has been incredibly helpful in providing some valuable tips to capture awesome family memories.
For a 20-something, this kid owns some of the most impressive equipment I have seen!
So I asked her to test drive the Samsung Galaxy Camera and share her opinion. These are her thoughts:
“I have always been skeptical of these new portable cameras that claim “semi-professional” quality. I have avoided trying them until now. Yet, after taking several pictures with the Samsung Galaxy Camera and getting to know how it works, I have to say I am impressed. Sure, it’s still a compact camera and it lacks some of the Focus Mode settings that more professionals would prefer to use, but it has some excellent features.
- First of all, this is a great “point-and-shoot” camera, the Manual mode on this device is definitely better than on most cameras of the same type
- I was also impressed with what makes this camera so special which is the “shoot and share” options. You get the same instant gratification of sharing you get with your smartphone but infinitely better quality
- And last but not least, my favorite feature of all is its amazing zoom. Since the zoom is actually on the lens and not on the screen, most users can manage it without difficulty and it gives you incredible detail. The photo we chose here was taken from approximately 60 feet and wouldn’t you agree you can almost see the owl smiling at us here?”
A big thanks to Samsung for sponsoring this campaign. Click here to see more of the discussion.
