I was recently able to get my hands on one of the top toys this holiday season, thanks to Target. This particular toy arrived at my home and was immediately appropriated by my son, who insisted that he test it out and review it himself, with no help from me.
Forthwith, a review of the Nerf N-Strike Elite Hail-Fire Blaster, written in its entirety by Jackson, age 11. (This is technically his first blog post, which makes his mama very proud.)
My name is Jackson and I am eleven years old, and I had the pleasure of testing the new Nerf Hail-Fire®.
Yes, he really did put in the registered trademark symbol.
The Nerf Hail-Fire is electric [he means it is battery-operated] and so the darts shoot extremely far. It is also very creative, to the extent that you push the handle forward to switch ammunition cartridges. There is even a clear plastic chamber slide that slides back and forth so you can clear out any jams.
There is a small second trigger on the pistol grip that gets the fan in the Hail-Fire to spin and blast dart after dart into the unexpecting “Hunger Games” poster on your wall. (Plus, it makes a great revving noise.)
Altogether, it is great for splendid fun. This splendid fun, for example, is shooting at a misshapen target made of paper, crayons and masking tape on the second floor of your house and getting bullseye after bullseye. In total, I would recommend it to anyone who likes fun.
There you have it, moms. If you have a boy who likes fun, you know what to do. Head to Target, make a beeline for the toy aisle, look for the bright colorful signage that says “Top Toys”, and grab a Nerf N-Strike Elite Hail-Fire Blaster. Then be prepared to be pelted with soft orange and blue things that, thankfully, will not put your eye out.
A big thanks to Target for sponsoring this campaign. Click here to see more of the discussion.
