Summer Avocado Face Mask

By |

One the greatest things about summer is the abundance of delicious produce. You would not believe how many pounds of avocados, strawberries, blueberries, watermelon and corn my family goes through during the months of May to September. However, once in awhile, let’s say after I’ve eaten mashed avocado with sea salt and lemon on toast (holy deliciousness) for five days straight, a lone, ripe avocado will be staring at me from the fruit bowl. I don’t want to eat it…what do you do with it?

I’ll tell you what to do with it. Mash that bad boy on your face! Well, I mean don’t just MASH it on your face, mix up a fabulous facial mask that is sure to make your face glow. After all, avocados moisturize the skin naturally, aid in dealing with various skin problems such as acne, dark spots and inflammation (thanks be to tons of enzymes and vitamins), and deep cleanse pore buildup.

Here’s my favorite recipe for a soothing, glow-enhancing avocado mask.

Honey and Avocado Face Mask:

1 tablespoon plain yogurt
1 tablespoon honey
1 cucumber
Avocado pulp

Scoop out avocado pulp. Crush until creamy with fork. Add yogurt and honey to the pulp and stir well. Cut 2 slices of cucumber. Wash your face with face wash and pat dry. Apply the paste evenly over the neck and face. Massage it well into the skin. Keep cucumber slices on the eyes and relax for about 10–15 minutes until the mask sets. After this, clean your face using lukewarm water and pat the face dry.
