Shabbat Shalom, Y’all! Adorable Jewish Kid Debunks Traditional Marriage at His Bar Mitzvah

Out of the mouths of babes...

Out of the mouths of babes…

He’s just 13, but Duncan McAlpine Sennett is a lot wiser than folks five times his age.

In this video that’s making the Internet rounds, Duncan uses his bar mitzvah speech in front of Congregation Beth Israel in Oregon, to talk about his study of the Torah, particularly as it relates to the evolution of marriage.

While reflecting on marriage over the centuries he says it would be “irresponsible to exclude the topic of gay marriage.” Duncan ends his speech by calling for same-sex couples in his home state of Oregon to be granted the write to marry.

We all know that most Bible thumpers claim same-sex unions aren’t natural and go against God… But watch Duncan take his synagogue by storm as he explains why the biblical definition of marriage is nothing like what those who oppose equality say it is.

I always knew Whitney Houston was onto something when she declared that she believed children are our future.

Mazel Tov, Duncan!
