Through a series of what I’m sure were very involved meetings, discussions and studies on trends, Target has come up with a list of the Top Toys for the 2012 holiday season. Now, I’ve always kind of rolled my eyes at “Top Toy Lists” until last year, when Addie became obsessed with a certain popular toy. I called about a dozen stores and drove to five in search of the elusive Password Journal, where did I find it? Target. But only after talking to at least four store employees who understood my holiday plight.
Look, I don’t want to be that person again. Running from store to store, making the crazy phone calls and stressing out over A TOY. When Target says “These are the top toys this year!” believe them. Because as soon as I got the list this year Addie piped up THE VERY NEXT DAY and asked for two things off the list (A Monster High Scarily Ever After doll for her and a Bounce Bounce Tigger for Vivi.) While I was in the store shopping for my four assigned toys? I witnessed two grandmas buy they last two Emma’s Horse Trailers for their granddaughters (I nabbed one just in time.)
This was the same Target I was at last week when Vivi found her favorite toy, when I checked on the Monster High doll Addie wanted there were at least ten. Today? Two left.
These Target Top Toy list making people really do know what they’re talking about. Even better? Target is prepared, because as soon as I pulled Emma’s Horse Trailer and Little Dead Riding Wolf off the shelf? Target employees were behind me restocking the shelves as quickly as possible.
Curious about the Top Toy list at Target this year? It features 20 toys and I pretty much want to play with all of them. Even the Furby (assuming he has a really REALLY good off switch.) I was assigned the LeapPad2 Explorer (exclusive bundle from Target!) Bounce Bounce Tigger, A Monster High Scarily Ever After doll (Addie requested Clawdeen) and LEGO Friends Emma’s Horse Trailer. I found all four toys, plus a few extras (SHH!) and if you’ll excuse me I’ll be over here kicking my heels up because holiday shopping is basically done for this mom.
