This past weekend I attended the Blogher conference in Chicago. I refer to it as the “Superbowl of blogging conferences”. Aside from the speakers, the expo, and the workshops there were parties galore. However, though the word party implies fun, it is not a given. It takes special effort to put on a party that will forge a relationship between a brand and a party goer. It’s not rocket science, but it is a bit of theatre and a lot of social interaction.
Out of all of the parties I attended this past weekend there was one in particular that stood out above the rest, the South Walton, White Beach Party. They did an amazing job with their brand party. There was only one thing that I thought would have improved the party, having sand for guests to scrunch their toes in. However, when I talked with their event planner he told me they had in fact tried to use sand for the party but were denied permission by the hotel. “A” for effort!
Here are 11 things that South Walton did that you could do to make the “P” in your Brand Party stand for PERSONALITY.
My 11 event planning tips for brands are just the beginning. Based on your experiences, what tips would offer? Let’s elevate the sphere and bring brand parties to a new level of engagement.
Disclosure: As of the publishing of this post I have not been and am not a paid spokesperson for South Walton. I attended this party as a guest and wrote about it purely out of admiration and education.
