Mother’s Day is tomorrow May 12th which means that my television, radio and email box have been overflowing with adds and messages all claiming to know what I and all the other mothers around the world really want on our “special” day. I’m 15 years into my motherhood tenure so I feel suitably justified in telling you that they are all wrong. Their wrong! None of these ad people have it right at all. They are just dangling shiny objects in front of gullible men and children who are desperate for some direction in the absence of Mom’s supervision and guidance. Because Mother’s Day is the one day they are supposed to do it by themselves. In their panic they can be convinced to buy anything. It’s time to break the cycle and inject some truth into this situation. I’m not going to tell you what to get, because it should be a gift that speaks directly to the Mother in your life, but I will layout some simple rules to keep you out of the danger zone. Rule of thumb, do not buy gifts that fall under these categories:

Mother's Day Gift Do's and Don'ts
A true Mother's Day gift is all about Mom.
You know your mother better than you think. Just take the time to think about who they are and what makes them happy, as opposed to what you want them to have, or worse yet, what’s on sale. Keep your mind on the Mother herself and you won’t go wrong. Mother’s Day gifts should be all about Mom. But lucky for you, we tend to be very forgiving as long as you put in some effort.
