I love going to the spa and treating my skin to a little reinvigoration, however I’m not as keen on paying for regular spa visits. These things can add up, am I right? Well, after years and years of trying all sorts of “at-home” body treatments, I’ve found 5 common pantry items that serve me well in the beauty realm. Here are my favorites.

  • Kosher Salt 2 of 6
    Kosher Salt
Forget the beachy wave products on the shelves - just mix 8 ounces of water with 1 teaspoon of kosher/sea salt and a dab of hair gel in a spray bottle, spray liberally on damp hair, scrunch, air dry. and voilá, beach waves.
  • Oats 3 of 6
    Oats
Using an oatmeal mask can soothe inflamed, red skin. Mix 1 tablespoon of raw oats with a tablespoon of honey and plain yogurt. Apply and rinse off after 10 minutes.
  • Coffee Grounds 4 of 6
    Coffee Grounds
Don't throw those used coffee grounds away! Caffeine has been shown to stimulate and tighten the skin. Mix used coffee grounds with olive oil until it forms a paste, and apply all over the body in the shower. Rinse off and get ready for smooth, glowing skin.
  • Coconut Oil 5 of 6
    Coconut Oil
My personal favorite, you can use coconut oil as a hair conditioner, a moisturizer, and it is also doubles as a shaving aid. Use it on your legs before shaving and enjoy being nick-free.
  • Brown Sugar 6 of 6
    Brown Sugar
Brown sugar makes the yummiest shower scrub ever. Just mix equal parts brown sugar and oil, and massage into your skin in the shower. Smells delicious, and leaves you with refreshed skin.

What are some of your favorite at-home beauty treatments? Have you used the above products for anything else beauty-related?
