Ten Tips for a Slimming Swimsuit

Summer is in full swing, and I’ve been trying to really get out and about this summer. A part of that goal involves time at the pool and at the beach . . . which, of course, means wearing a bathing suit. I don’t relish running around with everything hanging out, so I’m always searching for modest swimsuits that are slimming and stylish. Here are a few of my favorite looks.

  • Printed Sail & Floral Suit 1 of 10

A smaller print on the center of this suit gives the illusion of a smaller wait.
  • Push-up One Piece 2 of 10

  • Ruffle-Front Slimming Suit 3 of 10

This suit, available at Target from the makers of SPANX, has a ruffle that pulls the eye upwards, and camouflages the tummy.

  • Asymmetrical Slimming Suit 4 of 10

Asymmetrical rouching is a great tummy slimmer.

  • Retro Mod Suit 5 of 10

The pop of color makes this suit fashion forward, but the lines slim the waist.

  • One-Shoulder Sheer Suit 6 of 10

I love the sheer asymmetrical draping of this suit, and the off-the-shoulder cut elongates the torso.

  • Molokai Swimsuit 7 of 10

The patterns and contrast on this suit create nice flattering lines.

  • Sash Dots Maillotte 8 of 10

The pop of color on this sash whittles the waist.

  • Splice One-Piece 9 of 10

Geometric patterns are great for adding interest without bulk.
