Summer vacation is in full force, and naturally, it’s pouring rain and miserable and the kids are bored. So bored. Soooo bored, Mom.
It’s easy for that sense of fun and excitement to trickle down to my bad mood (and frizzy hair, thanks a lot 90% humidity!), so as a preventative measure, we pass our home-bound days having afternoon picnics, watching Disney and, surprisingly, loving it.
Which is saying a lot. I mean, I’ve spent many an up-before-dawn-omg morning watching Disney Junior with my kids, and yeah, they love it, but it’s hard to get work done with the “Hotdog Hotdog Hot Diggity Dog” song in your head.
Once they grew into the non-animated shows, things got more interesting. Okay fine, I’m totally hooked. Downton Abbey-wha!? Gimmie the house on Good Luck Charlie any day!
So fear not, parents of young ones, there is life beyond Doc McStuffins and Sofia the First… and it’s addicting!
