The Happiest Story of the Year. Batkid Saves the Internet

BatKid Saves the INternet

In a world where we are bombarded with sad and scary and frustrating news stories, along comes Batkid to save the day. In fact, Batkid saves the internet!

When little Miles had his wish granted to be a superhero for the day, an entire city rallied together to make the event extraordinary for him. What wasn’t expected was that it became an extraordinary day for everyone.

Because Batkid not only saved a damsel in distress and San Francisco icons from The Penguin and Riddler, he also reminded the world that people at their core are really good.

He showed us that thousands and thousands of strangers will assemble just to make one kid’s dream come true for a day.

He showed us that communities will go far out of their way to voluntarily make others happy, even to the point of transforming a major world city for an entire day. San Francisco wasn’t San Francisco yesterday, it was Gotham.

Batkid showed us the power of love for our fellow humans far outweighs any evil.

Thanks, Batkid. In fact, thank you Miles. Thank you for for reminding us about our common humanity, that people really do care about each other, and showing us that sometimes the wish of a strong little boy can make the world smile together.
