The Disney Princess royal court just welcomed one more princess, Merida of Disney-Pixar’s “Brave,” and my family was there to celebrate this historic moment along with almost 200 other mom bloggers present for the annual Disney Social Media Moms conference.

It was enough of a thrill to be invited to attend the conference, add to it that it was taking place during my birthday and Mother’s day weekend, and top it off with the Merida Celebration and it makes for a pretty pixie dust, magical weekend! My girl just couldn’t believe that we were getting to see one of her favorite princesses — because she can already identify with her feistiness! — arrive ridding her trusty horse Angus to a parade of bagpipes and flutes that escorted her to the front of the Cinderella castle. In a picture that will be in our minds forever, the full royal court of Disney princesses was there waiting to welcome Merida.

And because the story of Merida is completely intertwined with that of her mother’s, Queen Elinor had the honor to crown her daughter.

All I could do during those 15 minutes was stare at the look of awe and joy in my daughter’s face. She took in every single second and didn’t miss a beat. I had to capture the moment for her so this story will never leave her consciousness and she can relive the special moment as often as she likes.

This is the story of the day we got to see a Disney Princess be crowned and it’s your’s to live.
