7 Favorite Artists Found on Etsy
As we’re nearing the final stages of our home renovation, I’m starting to think about decor. I’m jumping ahead of myself a bit, but I can’t help but get excited. We’ve lived in nine homes in our almost ten-year marriage, but this is the first one we’ve owned. And it’s also the largest (albeit still on the smaller side compared to the average American home for a family of five).
We don’t have a lot of stuff, and we plan to keep it that way—but we do have plenty of wall space, and while I prefer a minimalist look, I’m a big fan of art.
We’ve got family photos and homemade art (plus plenty more ideas on Pinterest for the future), along with a few long-standing favorites—but I’m on the prowl for more original art.
My favorite place to shop? Etsy. I’m not a big fan of cookie-cutter art that you could just as easily see in a hotel lobby, so Etsy’s the place for me. It’s original affordable work, and it supports smaller artists. Love that.

1. The Wheatfield by Katy Daisy
I love Katy Daisy's whimsical eye! Here, you'll find creations inspired by simple pleasures—I love her travel and state-themed work, along with her beautiful lettering.

2. John W. Golden
We've got a couple of John Golden's robot prints in our boys' room, and we plan to add a few more soon! We love them. A digital artist since the late 1980's, he is known for his ability to reproduce traditional styles and methods digitally.

3. Orange Studio by Helen Dardik
Helen Dardik is a Canadian illustrator, designer and a mother of three little girls. I adore her quirky, whimsical, retro-looking style. Great use of color, too.

4. Laura Amiss
Laura Amiss is a British illustrator working with textiles and print, and currently lives in The Netherlands with her family. She says, "My work is composed of subtle lines and color combinations produced through layering, piecing and sewing fabrics together."

5. The Black Apple by Emily Winfield Martin
Emily Winfield Martin paints whimsical, dream-like paintings with a childlike feel that's contemporary enough for adults. I especially dig her Alice in Wonderland themed work.

Sarah Jane sells fine art prints, stationery, paper play, embroidery patterns, jewelry, and more. Everything beautifully illustrates childhood, and I've loved every print I've bought from her—great for kids' bedrooms.

7. Rebekka Seale
I'm partial to Rebekka Seale because she designed my blog logos. I love everything she does—her trio of flower prints hangs on our wall, and I can't wait to be put on her long waiting list for a custom house painting. Gorgeous, gorgeous stuff.
