Watch: The Making Of Disneyland’s New Fantasy Faire Princess Village

“Finally!” is what some of us parents with Disney Princesses-obsessed girls are saying at the announcement that Disneyland’s Fantasy Faire, a new attraction and storybook world in Fantasyland, is opening on March 12. Fantasy Faire will definitely make many little guests’ fantasies of being up-close-and-personal with their favorite Disney Princess a reality, and a whole lot easier to plan since this will be primo spot  for royalty gawking.

Last week I got to sport a hard hat and take a unique sneak peek at the construction of Fantasy Faire. I documented it all on video so you could check it out too.

Designed in the charming, old world style familiar to lovers of Fantasyland, this regal village fair is located on the west side of the “Hub” or Central Plaza, expanding Fantasyland beyond its current boundaries and into a location (the former Carnation Plaza Gardens) near the forecourt of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The main highlights of this new enchanted village will definitely be the Royal Hall, Royal Theater and Tangled’s Tower.

They will enter the Royal Hall through the garden amidst views of Sleeping Beauty’s castle. Once inside, not only will they get to spend time with the Princesses they find at that time, they will also encounter along the way whimsical design touches, including Geppetto’s cat  Figaro dozing (and occasionally waking) on a window sill, and “Clopin’s Music Box,” a fascinating, interactive mechanical toy representing the Feast of Fools from “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

Once they exit, guests will  be back at the main and charming village square where Tangled Tower, a magical sculpture inspired by the story of Rapunzel, will delight them. After dark, Rapunzel’s hair, twisting around the tower sculpture, comes to life with twinkling lights. Can’t wait to experience how Disney brings that to life!

The Royal Theater is where storytelling magic will happen. You will be treated to two different shows: the tales of Rapunzel (“Tangled”) and Belle (“Beauty and the Beast”) as presented by Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones, a pair of vaudeville-style Renaissance storytellers that will bring these tales to life. But Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones won’t do this alone, both Belle and Rapunzel will join them and stay around to greet your family following the conclusion of the story. How’s that for becoming part of the royal story?

The date the new Fantasy Faire will open to the public has been set to March 12. Make sure to bookmark Babble Disney Voices because we’ll be sure to bring you all the latest Fantasy Faire news as we’re all eager for it to open. And I can’t wait to give my princess-loving girl this treat!
