Birkenstocks have made a come back recently but at Berkeley they never even left! In fact a lot of the pieces you'll see on the street will make you feel like your having a '90s flashback.
Scarves 3 of 10
Because Berkeley sits on the bay, there is usually always a little chill from the ocean breeze which means most students can be seen wearing or packing scarves. Long, short, thick, thin, knitted, furry, fuzzy... there is no end to the type of scarves you'll see.
Babydoll Maxi Dress 4 of 10
Long and short babydoll dresses are another common piece found on campus. Known for their layering ability, they can be seen year round.

Floral Bag 7 of 10
It seems like I can't go to Berkeley without seeing some kind of floral pattern... either on an accessory, a dress, or even in menswear. This bag is a prime example! It's also a throwback to the '90s, one of Berkeley's most popular styles.
Distressed Jeans 8 of 10
Distressed jeans are much more popular than khakis, slacks, or trousers that are present at many other universities. The more rips, tears, and holes your jeans have, the more you'll fit in as a Berkeley student.
Tie-Dye 9 of 10
Tie-dye is one of those things that will always be in style in one way or another at Berkeley. In fact, one of the most popular souvenirs brought back from UC Berkeley may just be the tie-dye shirt.

Jackets are a must have piece at Berkeley for the sudden ocean breeze that comes in. One of the more popular jackets is the cargo style jacket. This lightweight jacket is perfect for layering and has the boyfriend look.
