#WhyIVote

You may have heard that there’s an election going on this year?

Oh, I kid of course!

I know you’ve probably had it up to here with this election. But that won’t stop me from nagging you just a little bit. Because it’s important.
First, have you registered to vote yet?

Time is running out for a lot of you — check out GottaVote.com — it’s super easy, and registration is of course non-partisan.
So go. It has nothing to do with political parties or campaigns. It’s about democracy.

We’ll wait.
OK, done?

Now I want to invite you to a very cool initiative from Babble and the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama; we want to know, why do you vote?

Is it because of your children? Because you want change? Because it’s going to be your first time? Because you like the feeling of power? Why?

All you need to do is create a Pinterest board on what inspires you to vote (don’t forget to tag your submissions #whyivote), and submit your board on this post. We want to know your reasons, but if you’re curious about mine, my board is here.

Hurry! If you post before Sunday, October 21Michelle Obama will personally select her favorite pins and repin them to her own board. How cool is that? VERY.
