wringing the last few days out of summer

It suddenly dawned on me this week that I only have about 10 more working days with my daughter before she starts her new school — where in heaven’s name did the summer go?  Since her summer camp has ended, she’s home with me for these last few weeks, thankfully, so I’m trying to make sure we have some good mom-daughter bonding time before we get back into our normal routines.  It’s been really quite blissful — while I certainly loved being her mother when she was a baby, now that she’s older, I’m finding I’m having so much fun with her.  The kid is just so funny and full of life.

So these waning days of summer are becoming all the more memorable.  Here are the things that I’ve been grateful for this past week:
