Take a second look at Mathew, and you’ll see it’s missing the extra “t” of the traditional Matthew. While this spelling variation makes it more unique, it also makes it far less popular—which may be good or bad depending on your personal preferences. Just keep in mind that you’ll probably have to correct mispellings of your son’s name for most of their childhood.
