Origin

  • Egyptian: God of the dead and the underworld; Osiris is regarded as the king who watches over the nether world and is rejuvenated in his son, Horus. As the symbol of eternal life he was worshipped at Abydos and Philae. As a god of inundation and vegetation, he is also represented as a mummified king.
