Origin

  • egyptian: Sun god of Heliopolis; From the fifth dynasty onwards, Ra became a national god and combined with the supreme deity Amon. As head of the great ennead and supreme judge, this god was represented as falcon-headed and was often linked with other gods aspiring to universality, such as Amon, Amon-Ra, and Sobk-Ra.
