After much internal (and verbal) debate, I have decided to keep Fern’s first birthday party pretty low key. No ponies or 10-tier birthday cakes, just a small little gathering with a few of our family members. But, no matter the size of the party, a first birthday party dress is a must and we’re still deciding which one to choose for Fern.
Here are 10 that I think would make adorable first birthday dresses – imagine the cute photos!
Mini Lucy P Dress 1 of 10This dress is at the top of my list of contenders. I'm thinking I'd like it in sea foam green with a white collar...or white with a black collar. Thoughts?
Purchase for $25.00 from Vanilla & Lace
Louis Louise Papillon Dress 2 of 10I would have a hard time spending this much on a dress for a one year old, but it's pretty darn cute nonetheless. Maybe if I were having a bigger party, I'd spring for it.
Purchase for $100.00 from Little Vida
Dot Pleated Dress 3 of 10This dress is sweet and simple and could be worn long after the party was over.
Purchase for $29.95 from Gap
Go Gently Baby Ribbon Dress 4 of 10White looks good on every baby - it's so sweet and innocent and I love this timeless little dress. The photos would be lovely.
Purchase for $62.00 from Little Vida
Nancy Party Dress 5 of 10This is the quintessential party dress and I like that it's pink, but not an obnoxious shade.
Purchase for £95.00 from Caramel Baby & Child
Braid Dress 6 of 10This dress is unbelievably priced, a classic color and a warm fabric - perfect for a winter birthday celebration.
Purchase for $19.00 from Joe Fresh
Taylor Dotted Baby Dress 7 of 10Nothing says "birthday" quite like a pleated ruffle and some sweet dots.
Purchase for £40.20 from Caramel Baby & Child
Black & White Shapes Dress 8 of 10This would be a more modern birthday look - I like the little flutter sleeve.
Purchase for $62.00 from Bambinos & Bunnies
Red Bow Dress 9 of 10This red dress would be fun if red was a part of your color scheme - why not make the baby match?
Purchase for $29.99 from Zara
Jersey Lined Bubble Dress 10 of 10This dress was supposed to be Fern's Christmas dress, but since we had a bit of a Christmas fail, she never got to wear it. It's actually cuter on than it looks. I was planning to pair it with a grey cardigan and tights and silver glitter lace-up oxfords. This is my back up, but just may end up being the front runner!
Purchase for $19.50 from Old Navy
