I meant to post something yesterday about it being Fuzzball’s 100 day birthday, but I was too busy sucking the snot out of his nose. While I was in the thick of it with my first baby, a friend told me that once I made it through 100 days it would be easier. There is a Korean tradition to celebrate the 100th day of baby’s life, signifying that baby made it through this ‘difficult period.’ Personally, I think the difficulty is for the parents, and less for the baby. But, I suppose it is that ‘fourth trimester’ concept again, where the baby is getting used to being on the outside and is now ready to join society as a happy well-adjusted infant. The demarcation for Fuzzball has not been so clear, nor was it for my first. As for me, this time the first 100 days have been markedly easier and much less of a deep dark hole. For that, I am thankful. Happy 100 (101) days, Fuzz!
