25 Things You Probably Don't Know About Me

By Lauren Hartmann |

25 things you didn't know about the fact that I really wish I wore glasses and these ones are fakes.

I’ve been writing here at Babble for quite a while now; all throughout my pregnancy and now here at Baby’s First Year, but I’ve never really written much about myself.

Yes, I’ve written about some personal things…post-baby boobsmommy fail moments and birth control, but never really about any of the things that make me, me.  And, I figured that now is as good a time as any to get to know one another.

Inspired by Serge and Monika’s 25 things post, I thought I’d whip up my own list and give you lovely readers a better idea of who I am and what makes me tick.  I love learning random facts about people, so I thought you might enjoy learning some random facts about me.

25 Things About Me

I am a reformed baby hater

I used to be a complete baby hater. I always wanted to have kids, but I was never keen on the baby stage. But, in order to have kids, they have to be babies first, I decided to take the plunge. Everyone told me I'd feel differently when I had my own baby and they were right. I even like other people's babies now! Who would've thought?! Certainly not my former self.

I loved these! I too am a temperature wimp…which works out, because I live in the South so it’s hardly ever cold haha.

This is a fun post. Some things about me…

My husband and I met at philosophy club in college. We were both philosophy majors.

I watched Julia child every single saturday morning growing up from about age 4 up. I hated cartoons.

My engagement ring is a family heirloom. It was my great grandmother’s and is from the early 1940′s.

My grandparents have a cattle ranch in southern oregon where I spent much of my school vacations. I have been riding horses and “cutting” cattle since I was in kindergarden.

I love vegetables and always have. I was perhaps the only grade school child who was excited to eat brussel sprouts, broccoli, mustard greens and kale at dinner time.

I think I will do a blog post like this. It’s so fun to learn random things about people.

So I faintly remember when we were working at Rivercrest, you talked about Craig wanting a G-Wagen…yes? That was a fabulous summer. I still have my pirate day t-shirt somewhere… :)

Lauren! I loved reading these and I even learned new stuff about you!
Here’s mine: once when I was two or three I was playing in our family Volvo pretending to drive and somehow I slipped it into reverse. Once I realized that the car was about to crash into the tree across the street I opened the door and bailed onto the strip of grass between the street and sidewalk. My mom was yelling at me to stay in the car but I was more afraid of crashing…I ran into the house and his behind my parents bed for hours because I thought I would be in such big trouble. My mom didn’t really care about the car but she was just worried id get hurt/ran over if I jumped out. Haha I was a stinker. :)

Holy COW. I am always made fun of by my family because of my hatred/fear of squirrels. They twitch. and they are waay too comfortable running up on you. ick. i had one jump at me while eating at a park once. HATE them. So thankful I’m not the only one. We should start a support group.
