5 Reasons Why Vacations Are Better with a Baby

We just got back from yet another family vacation. August is a busy month for us, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love traveling with my family and really savor the time that we get to spend together with all four of us.

Vacations take on an entirely new meaning when you have children. They bring on a new vibe that you wouldn’t have had if you just went on a vacation with your significant other. As much as I love spending one-on-one time with my husband, I would much rather go away on a trip with my entire family.

You might think I’m crazy for saying this, but vacations are much better with a baby. And I’ll tell you the reasons why.

  • You Get to Enjoy Moments You Might Not Have Otherwise Noticed 1 of 5

Let's face it. Kids wake up early no matter what time they go to bed the night before. Avery stayed up late night after night on our vacation because we were out and about. I hoped she would sleep in the next morning, but she never did. Every single morning she was up at the crack of dawn ready to start her day. If I were on vacation by myself, I would try to sleep in as late as I could. But with Avery being with us, I was able to watch the sunrise. It's very rare that I get to watch the sun come up at such a gorgeous location, but thanks to Avery, I could do it almost every morning.

Vacations are for eating, and for eating well. With my little girl around, I had a buddy to indulge in some of my favorite sweet treats without any judgement or guilt. I would have never thought about getting a chocolate milkshake before dinner, but with Avery with me, I just couldn't resist.

  • Relive Your Childhood 3 of 5

One of my favorite things about having the girls with us on vacation is watching them experience things that I did as a little girl. It's so nostalgic watching them and being able to relive my childhood. It's a special moment that I wouldn't have otherwise had if I were on vacation without them.

With babies constantly on the go, there is never a dull moment. Even on vacation. Although I do want to relax on vacation, I love that I always have someone there to make me laugh, smile, and fill my heart with so much joy.

  • Relax With The Best View in Town 5 of 5

The girls are finally at the age where they enjoy playing with one another. They will actually play and entertain one another for an extended period of time so that I can relax. There isn't any other vacation I can go on that still allows me to get time for myself and relax, while being able to see my favorite people right there.
