Sunday is Mother’s Day and considering that I’ve been preparing all week for my 2 year old’s birthday party, which is Saturday, I can’t wait for a break this weekend. During the week, I don’t stop until my head hits the pillow between 2 and 3 AM. I can’t remember the last time I actually watched any TV besides Yo Gabba Gabba and Elmo. My DVR is just filled to the brim with things I need to catch-up on.
So when Mother’s Day comes around, I really look forward to the special day in hopes that I will catch some kind of a break. I’ll take the handmade cards and beautiful colored pictures, but forget the gifts. You won’t be able to find the things I want for Mother’s Day at your local Target.
What I Really Want For Mother’s Day 1 of 6
Click-through 5 things I'd love for Mother's Day! No gifts required.
Don’t Interrupt 2 of 6
I'd like to take a shower and use the bathroom uninterrupted. And without everyone banging on the outside of the door and little hands peeping through.
Sleep In 3 of 6
I'd love to sleep in peacefully without anyone coming in, no trips in my room, no asking "Mommmmm, when are you getting up or how much longer are you going to be sleeping?" When I do decide to rise, breakfast in bed would be amazing.
Not One Dish 4 of 6
My husband cooks every night, therefore I clean up the dishes - every night. Let's be honest, I used to like doing the dishes but 10 years and 5 kids later, I am somewhat over it and wouldn't mind having a butler. Clearly, that isn't in the budget so on Sunday, I'd love to not have to touch ONE dish. Hint hint to my husband if you're reading this!
Catch-Up on Reading 5 of 6
All of the piles of magazines and new books I have are just collecting dust. They've been sitting on my end table for weeks and I have been dying to find time to dive-in.
But, Most of All…. 6 of 6
I just want to spend time with my kids. I don't want to run anywhere, I don't want to make plans. I just want to enjoy the hugs, laughs, cuddles and all the love they can give.
