When my third baby was born he weighed in a half-pound less than my other two kids. He was a skinny little thing with a huge, round head and I immediately started calling him the runt of my litter. Fast forward three months and that “runt” is WAY bigger than my other two babies ever were. He doubled his birth weight in no time and started wearing 6-month clothing recently, much to my surprise. I stood there at his changing table, mystified as the 3-month clothing appeared tight across his belly. I looked at him and said, “But…but…you only wore this stuff for a few weeks!”
So now I’ve got a growing pile of newborn and 0-3 months clothing in his closet. With my last baby, I dutifully packaged it all up and mailed it all to my friend Cara, who was expecting her second baby. It was a perfect way to get them out of my house without giving them up completely. You know, just in case I changed my mind in a couple years and wanted a third baby. Ha.
But now, I’m confident we are done. Done done doneity DONE. And none of my close friends are currently expecting. So what to do with all those baby clothes that still have a lot of wear left in them?
