I have a major addiction to everything that is Halloween. Or any holiday really, as a crafty person who loves to cook. And am reveling in the fact I now have my very own little family to create all of these awesome memories with. Bring it.
So. You are going to find plenty of Halloween-themed posts from me this week. Be forewarned.
Yesterday we (eventually), hit the road for Chappell Pumpkin Farm just down the road from our house. Wherein we ate horrible brown food, went on a tractor ride (with no hay! What?!?! FAIL), to pick our pumpkins, feed some goats, played with dump trucks in the dirt and took lots of pictures. I of course picked up a bail of hay, corn stalk and other such decor items. Because I am that person. I love to decorate. These wreaths over on Home Ec? I’ve started this one and it brings me small pockets of joy. Can’t help it. We’ve all got our vices. Mine range from the deviant to the Martha.
It was a sunny gorgeous day, and while me may have felt like the living dead walking around due to SERIOUS lack of sleep, no matter. We took pleasure in the bright, warm sun injecting some life into our weary bodies. We grinned at our young boy running in the pumpkin patch to gleefully pick his pumpkin. And then proceed to play rugby with any and all he could muster in weight. We took pride in the adoration kind strangers doted on our beautiful wee baby girl. All in all, while the every-day may seem at times that there are thumb-tacks poking our eyes out — there is still this. All of this family love that makes it SO worth it.
