Abby's Oscars, Day Two: The King's Speech

By Amy Keyishian |

Abby The King's Speech

That's my hiney, your highness.

Nine days till the Oscars! Abby knows that not everyone has friends who invite them over to watch Academy Award screener-DVDs. (See what I did there? That was an sympatheti-brag, courtesy of last night’s Community.) So she’s re-enacting as many movies as she can manage before the big day.

Today’s see-it-at-home version of a nominated film is “The King’s Speech,” nominated for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay (David Seidler), Best Director (Tom Hooper), Best Actor (Britain’s Colin Firth), Best Supporting Actor (Australia’s Geoffrey Rush), Best Supporting Actress (Helena Bonham Carter), and a bevy of other, less-star-studded categories.

You can watch the red carpet on Sunday, February 27, though it’s just not the same without Joan Rivers.
