I have to admit, until I started blogging in the main stream almost two years ago, I never really knew there was such a diverse and large selection of high end strollers out there. I always thought the dozen travel systems at Babies R Us were what you could choose from.
But then time went on I learned about Stokke, Bugaboo, and all those other fancy brands that I never thought I would use. I had my double stroller for my older children, and the travel system we used with my oldest that was handed down to my second son.
But after they out grew the car seat it went in the garbage, and then eventually the single stroller was given to a family member to use. We still have our double stroller, but don’t use it too much since both of our boys are at the age where they want to walk everywhere. So I was excited to try the Stokke Xplory out with our daughter. Although I was really impatient and had to try it out with our youngest son while I was still pregnant.
The toss up originally was green or pink, and as you can see the green won. I wanted something that I could use also with my other children in the case that I needed to.
Seriously though… I think this stroller could actually cook me breakfast if I needed it to. I mean, it does everything else! It can face mom, or away from mom… it can sit at several different levels, and to open and close it, you press a simple button. No more wrestling with a stroller. And let me tell you, my previous strollers have all kicked my ass on several occasions!
The only thing I am pretty sad about is the Xplory isn’t available in a double stroller. My middle son is on the border of being able to walk everywhere, and still needing to be in a stroller for a good amount of things. Even if it just had one of those awesome kick boards for him to ride along, it probably would make a huge difference.
If you go for the Xplory, I also suggest getting the summer package (well for summer babies) which includes a cup holder, a total must have. I know at least for me I require Starbucks nine times out of ten when I am out walking with the stroller someplace.
Addie loves it too. Every time we go for a walk, she cuddles up in it and knocks out. It is almost like instant sleep for her. I even bring it out onto the back deck while her brothers play as a little portable bed to sleep, in the shade.
Another picture I love of Addie in her Xplory:
Oh and yes… that is her with a pacifier too! But that is a whole other post in itself!
