Avery's First Christmas! (Photos)

This Christmas lived up to be all that I could have ever asked for. I was surrounded by the people that I love and I got to watch the joy in my girl’s eyes as they looked under the tree on Christmas morning to see if surrounded by toys and presents waiting to be opened.

This was an extra special Christmas because it was Avery’s very first Christmas. As we led her out to the living room on Christmas morning and her eyes fixated on the brand new toys, she smiled with one of the biggest grins that I have ever seen. She might not understand the meaning of Christmas, but she sure felt the love and happiness around the room.

Avery was so in tune with every single second of our Christmas day. She played with her toys for hours on the floor, ate so much ham and sweet potatoes at Christmas dinner, and even saved the best present for last by taking her very first steps.

This was definitely a Christmas to remember. Check out some of my favorite moments of Avery’s first Christmas below!

    Christmas Eve
We celebrated Christmas Eve by watching Harlan in the Christmas Pageant at our church and then going to dinner. Avery loved watching her sister on stage and as always eating dinner with us at the table!

    Matching Christmas Pajamas
We adopted a tradition that my husband's family does where each family member gets a new pair of pajamas on Christmas Eve. The girls got matching pajamas and looked cuter than ever!

I love this picture of Avery. Although her eyes are closed, this just shows you the pure excitement in her eyes when we walked out into the living room. She was so happy to see everyone and all of the presents under the tree.

    A Present From Her Sister
Harlan bought Avery a gift this year and even picked it out herself. Avery loved it. Harlan was so happy when she saw the excitement that Avery got when she opened her present. It was truly what this day was all about.

    Are all these for me?
She was super excited when we brought her out, but as soon as we put her down she was a little overwhelmed with everything around her. She didn't know which present to go to first.

    She loved it!
This was Avery's big gift this year. She loved it and immediately started to dance up and down to the music that it made.

    Woah!
The look on her face was priceless every time she opened a gift. Avery loves music and loves to dance, so many of her gifts were instruments or music themed. She loved everything.

Of course every toy that she received had to undergo the Avery taste and chew test.

    What is this thing?
She received so many new toys that she didn't know what half of them were or what to do with them.

This first Christmas with two little girls was by far the most special Christmas that I've ever spent.

And the wrap up the night Avery took her very first steps!
