Baby's First Tea Party.

After dinner Addie put on her fancy hat and invited Vivi to a tea party in front of the Christmas tree. Vivi was already in her monster jammies but I managed to find a fancy little headdress of her own.

Given that Addie may be the clumsiest kid with water on carpet she was forced to serve air tea at her tea party. Vivi was allowed a tasty bottle of milk, which she naughtily knocked over several times throughout the little party.

While she enjoyed the small talk she was easily distracted by the plates, the cups and anything within reach, which given her current very grabby phase of life made the party very interesting, it also made her first tea party her last tea party.

At least for awhile.

The tea party was inspired by a bag of Hostess Devil’s Food Donettes we were given. Addie thought they were the perfect size for her “tea ladies” and set out to lay the scene. I decided to make them super fancy for the ladies by microwaving them for 15 seconds, just until the chocolaty outside began to melt, dusted them with rainbow sprinkles and let them cool.

Perhaps by the time Vivi is re-invited to one of Addie’s tea parties she’ll be able to have a little donette of her own. (Honestly Addie was used to her little sister, it was the bunny and the ladybug that weren’t so happy with her behavior. A spatula to the head will do that to a person.)

Maybe she was mad that she was being served air instead of a donette, but she was the only one with a real beverage.

And then she went for tray. Thankfully our gracious host remained gracious.

Foot, plate, knock over the bottle, poke the bunny, eat a fork, squeal, knock over bottle again.

Thankfully the bunny had the patience of a...bunny.

But don't the treats look lovely?

Well that's just rude Miss Vivi.

Things went downhill fast when she took the spatula to the bunny's head.

As if the spatula wasn't bad enough, she then knocked the bunny over, sat on her head and stole the teapot.
Vivi's first, and last, tea party.
