Readers’ Choice | Joovy Hook
The Joovy Hook is another impressive clip-on highchair that doesn’t send us into a panic. The design is more of a hook than a clamp (such as the Phil & Teds Lobster), meaning you can use it on any table with or without a lip. Just keep in mind that the table thickness is a bit more restrictive than the Lobster, only fitting on tables between 1″ and 2″ thick (which, to be honest, is most tables). And although the Hook is very sturdy when tightened all the way, there’s only a 3-point harness vs. the Lobster’s 5-point one.
Although you can’t throw the seat in a wash-and-dry cycle, the leatherette fabric is much easier to clean than most clip-on chair fabrics. And the 5-lb. chair easily folds down into a compact travel bag, perfect for restaurants and out-of-town visits. The Joovy Hook also holds up to 37 lbs., meaning you can use it for around 3 years.
