Bye Bye Baby: 10 of My Favorite Posts on Babble Baby

Avery will be 18 months old in just a couple of days and that means that it is time for us to say goodbye to Babble Baby! It’s been an amazing year being able to watch Avery grow and knowing I can come back to these posts and relive it all over again. Although I am sad that we are entering this next chapter of her life, I am grateful for how this year and a half has gone. It couldn’t have been more perfect.

As my last post on Babble Baby, I thought that it would be fitting to share with you some of my favorite posts over the past 18 months.

Next month, feel free to follow our journey over at Babble Toddler. I’ll also be writing at Babble Pregnancy and Style!

  • Introducing Angry Avery 2 of 11

When Avery was four months old, she started making these "angry" faces all the time. She wasn't at all angry, it just happened to be the face she would make when she was excited. It would always bring a smile to my face when she would make them because they were so goofy and she really did look angry. This post is a compilation of all of her "Angry Avery" faces I happened to catch on camera.

I go back and read this post every once in a while because it reminds me that as a mother, it is imperative we make time for ourselves. This was the moment that I began to date myself again.

  • Don’t Try to Bully Me Out of Breastfeeding in Public 4 of 11

My breastfeeding journey was a bit of a roller coaster, but something that remained true throughout was my confidence that I was making the right choice for my daughter. With my first, I would have never been so confident. I love that this post shows how much I've grown in my breastfeeding journey.

This post shows the special relationship that Avery and Harlan share. Even though Avery couldn't speak, they found a way to communicate with one another. Watching their relationship has been one of my favorite things to experience.

As Avery gets older, she's showing more of her personality. That includes letting me know just what she wants and doesn't want. I love her little independent spirit.

Probably my favorite post that I've ever written and an incredibly emotional one. I cried writing this and I still cry reading it over. I never knew how special breastfeeding could be until I did it with Avery. I was so sad to see it go.

Raising a baby in the city is definitely different than suburban life. I love that this post gives you a glimpse into our life in New York City and just what it means to grow up here.

  • Avery’s First Birthday Party 9 of 11

I put so much work and effort into Avery's birthday party that I was so happy with how it turned out. Although small, we had the absolute best time and I love that I have these photos to look back on.

  • One Year Later: 12 Months of Avery Photoshoots 10 of 11

I was so proud of myself for taking these monthly photos of Avery because I wasn't so good at that with Harlan. It's amazing to go through this slideshow to see just how much she grew and matured over the year.

  • I Hate My Post-baby Body 11 of 11

This was a really personal post for me and one that I almost didn't write. It was very hard for me to come to terms with my new body after having Avery. Looking back at it, this was the turning point in my self-esteem and making positive changes for myself.
