I joined a gym.
Go on. Laugh. I’ll wait.
It’s only for May and June because we’re moving at the end of June. But I had to do something. Walking with a stroller ain’t going to bring my muscles back. I have no muscles. I am veal. I miss muscles. They are helpful for doing stuff. Like walking.
I feel old. My body aches, I’m not flexible, I’m in a rut. I know, I know, I gave birth two and a half months ago so I need to cut myself some slack. But I hate feeling like this.
So I joined a nearby gym yesterday and even worked out! It felt good, you guys, so good. I did my thing on the elliptical for thirty minutes and then, even though I felt jiggly and gross, I mingled with all the sexy mamas (who wears make-up and jewelry when working out?!) on the main floor and worked out my legs. I kept the weights really light because, honestly, I haven’t been in a gym since before Violet was born.
We’ll see how it goes. I’m more interested in muscle tone than weight loss but, of course, I’ll monitor the weight loss as well. I weigh 150 pounds right this second. I started this pregnancy at 130 but, ideally, I should be at 125.
