When I was younger I used to shop for clothes on a whim. I would be out and about and just buy something because I thought it was cute without thinking of how it would fit in with the items already in my closet or whether or not I really needed it. As a result I ended up having a mish mash of clothes and no definable style.
Now, I keep a running list of clothing items that I would like to acquire on a wish list in my phone. That doesn’t mean that I end up purchasing all these items, but it gives me a bit of direction so that I don’t end up buying random pieces. Sometimes the items on the list are specific brands (i.e. an American Apparel scarf) and other times it’s simply a general item (i.e. black slouchy sweater).
This system has worked really well for me and I’ve even started doing it for Fern, since it can be really easy to buy way too many baby clothes if I’m not careful.
Here are a few items on Fern’s current fashion wish list…
