Free “Let’s Play” App Released by National Nonprofit ‘Zero to Three’

parenting appIf I’m honest, I have to admit that sometimes I find myself home with my daughters and short on baby play and game ideas.  Never mind that I have Pinterest boards with hundreds of links, I have to think fast (and keep baby fingers off my computer keyboard!).  “Let’s Play” isn’t an app for babies — instead it’s for parents and caregivers to stay loaded up with fun ways to keep babies and toddlers entertained and learning, especially during daily routines like commuting time, chores, bedtime, bath time, mealtime, and shopping. The app was developed by ZERO TO THREE, a national nonprofit organization focused specifically on the healthy development of babies and toddlers.

Parents can search activities by age (0-18 months, 18-36 months, and 3-5 years), tag favorites, and share activities via social media. All of the activities reflect children’s typical skills at each age and are designed to support development in the context of play and family routines. The “Boredom Busters” has been a big hit during the extended winter here in New York.

For more ideas ans information, you can follow Zero To Three on twitter @ZEROTOTHREE  Also, if you like quizzes, make sure to take the Play Time True or False test to see if you believe in any of the myths.
